SATURDAYS 10:00-12:00 AM

Paint on Pottery! (February 25, 2012)
AJ-1 Pottery with Alan Jones (Ages 10-13)
Students, ages 9 to 12, will paint on pottery and fire pieces in a kiln for pick-up the following weekend. Participants can choose from a variety of animals, cupcakes, vases, boxes, or fish.
Supplies & materials provided.

Transforming Junk Into Treasure (March 24, 2012)

SK-1 Transforming Junk with Shari Keith (Ages 10-13)

Join teaching artist Shari Keith, the Junk Lady, on a recycling journey to discover that you can truly transform junk into treasure. In this workshop students will be presented with a treasure trove of small, discarded objects. By analyzing the attributes of these objects with respect to the elements of design, participants will create personal artifacts that they can turn into purses, jewelry, key rings, or ornaments. Supplies & materials provided.

Create prints like Andy Warhol! (April 28, 2012)
LN-1 Silk Screen Printmaking with Larry Nisula (Ages 10-13)

Students can make their own Andy Warhol prints featuring their pet, a friend or a family member. Participants will create 4 different colored ‘Cool Art’ images to take home and display in their room.

FOR TEENS ONLY! (March 13-16)
VA-1 Spring Break Retreat (Ages 14-17)

During Spring Break teens can experience working in a variety of media with a variety of professional artists. Curriculum will focus on found object sculpture, jewelry-making transforming found objects into jewelry; a geo-caching experiment in public art along the Arcadia canal system; and painting with pastels.

March 13-16, 2012 (Tues-Fri) 10:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.
4 Meetings Tuition: $120

Registration Information
Please register ASAP to avoid disappointment.  Many classes fill early or the class may be canceled if we do not have sufficient registration two weeks prior to beginning of class.  We must have payment in order to include a student’s name on the class list.

On-line Registration: Go on-line to www.shemerartcenterandmuseum.org click on Classes to a drop-down box indicating Class Registration.  You will be able to pay on-line through pay pal.

Walk-in Registration: You may register in person at the Shemer Art Center T-SA from 10 am to 3 pm. and Thursday evenings from 6:30- 8:30 pm.

Mail-in Registration: Fill out registration form provided,  include your check payable to SACAMA or fill out credit card information on the form and mail to: Shemer Art Center, 5005 East Camelback Road, Phoenix, AZ 85018

Refund: All refund requests must be made at least one week prior to the start of class.  If a class is canceled due to insufficient registration, you will receive a full refund.  No refunds will made on day of class,  for no-shows, or withdrawals after a class begins.
